Should Cuba and Venezuela merge into a single nation (Venecuba) and forever prevent Western invasion?

Once Sud America could have be a copy of the EU, at least in combining countries. that time is past. They don't want any country there to be too poor as to invite revolutions anymore.The difference is Brazil is great now and Argentina is not so great, Venezuela is thriving and oil rich. Many want trade w/ Turkey and other nations. They see their borders as limitless. The US and the EU see themselves land locked in their cultures.
