Why do Protestants still observe so many of the false teachings introduced by Catholicism?

the one true teaching counters all false teachings... and i don't care what you deem them as. the one truth is that Jehovah saves/spares/salvages/rescues! that ought to tell you something. what are we being rescued from? - the end of civilization as we know it. what are we being salvaged for? - the beginning of a civilization we've yet to know... one where Jesus is the authority over all and no trivial b/s will remain among the congregation.
