Looking for the name of a 60's movie about a spaceship landing in a family's backyard.?

I thought this was a Jerry Lewis movie but have not been able to find it. I saw this movie probably 30 years or more ago and only remember that a spaceship landed in the backyard of a family & the daughter of the house fell in love with the alien. Sound familiar?
