My newborn is stuff, is he sick?

My little boy was born october 7th, so he is just over 2 weeks old. He has been sneezy and stuffy and has a runny nose, and a bit of a cough. I took him to the doctor today and she told me it was normal for a new born to be all congested like that. Does that seem normal? Im a first time mom, and naturally i am just concerned... Any answers help!
