You shouldn't "numb" emotional pain; you need to learn to deal with it somehow. I know; been there; lost my Dad, who I was very close to. Doesn't matter how long ago it was, you have a right to your feelings. If you can't talk to someone, journal your thoughts. Sometimes putting pen to paper helps to deal with stuff. Write your Dad a letter, and burn it, sending the ashes to the sky. Sounds goofy, but it helps. Keeping you in my thoughts.
